Welcome to the first Cat Café in Iowa!
Coffee Cats is an innovative and distinctive approach to a coffee shop and is located in historic Valley Junction in West Des Moines. We highlight locally sourced coffee and food items along with a separate cat lounge area housing adoptable cats from the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. Customers have the opportunity to enjoy a beverage in the comfort of the cozy coffee shop or in the purr-fect surroundings of feline friends. We limit the number of people in the cat lounge to 6 reserved customers per session and 2 walk-in customers, first come first served.
Please stop in for a cup of coffee, tea, a smoothie, one of our specialty drinks or an Italian soda and a sweet treat any time. No reservation necessary for the coffee shop.

Sunday: 10am - 5pm
How it Works:
Customers pay a $10 cover fee for an hour in the cat lounge. The fee allows us to house and care for the 10-12 cats while they stay with us before they find their furrever home! Reservation times typically start at the top of each hour.
On average, cats sleep 16-20 hours per day and the cats in the lounge are no exception — they behave like all felines. We encourage you to set your expectations aside and enjoy the unique personalities, cat nappers, and zoomers we have at any given time.
The coffee shop, featuring coffee from Grounds for Celebration, is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere. No reservations necessary to have the best coffee in town.
